Crushing the aluminum can in his fist he threw te crumpled piece of scrap over his shoulder to join its equally trashed brethren. Luke tapped onto the Uesugi's comm system and opened up a channel to Kei's Suzume.

"Hey rookie! Don't suppose I could persuade you to throw away your beam cannon for a six pack of numero especiale mexicale beer?!"

"What?!" The Suzume moved much faster than its size and bulk would suggest, and before he knew it the machine had closed the distance with his. An overhead swing to the right shoulder. He had been surprised by Kei's sudden onslaught, but that sort of obvious attack was an easy thing to block.

The Uesugi raised its left arm in a seemingly futile act of defience, but just before it would have been sliced in two a bright green disc of light exploded out from it intercepting the Suzume's blade.

The inebriated pilot turned out to be quite adequate defensively. Kei had hoped that a quickly rushing his opponent might give him the upper hand. That was not the case as the pilot boldly blocked the attack with his beam shield and arm.

"Damn. Guess I knew it wouldn't be that easy. Still, I wasn't expecting such great reaction time."

That would not be the biggest surprise, however. The pilot brought his Uesugi off the ground, in one quick move managed to position himself behind Kei's Suzume, and bring his short beam saber down.

"Dammit! Are you even really drunk?!"

Kei needed to act quick, so he decided the best move now would be using his beam shield. Without a second thought he turned and activated it, letting the shield take the brunt of the damage. With some effort he was able to saber wildly.

"Hope this gets him off me" the young pilot said to himself.

Much to his surprise, Kei's swing actually made direct contact with the opposing suit. For a moment the young pilot felt triumphant.

"Ha take tha-wait WHAT?"

As it turned out the hit had been intentional. Luke had forsaken defense is exchange for a position of attack. The Uesugi swung its saber, catching Arai completely unaware. The attack left a mark that mirrored the one Kei had left on his opponent.

"What the-" was all Kei could exclaim before a second attack made it way toward him. As quickly as he could Kei activated his shield to block this one. His opponent's assault had become unrelenting. If something was going to be done it would have to be done now. Scanning the Uesugi, Kei searching around for an opening. When he finally found it, he wasted no time in swinging beam saber at it.

As much as he wanted to press the attack the sparks and smoke filling his Uesugi's cockpit was a subtle warning that he was already pushing the machine to its limits. Activating its beam shield again Luke warded off Kei's second attack.

His attack had succeed in driving away the Uesugi, but only long enough for it to quickly thrust behind him. Kei turned as fast as he could and activated the rest of his beam shields power to try and stop the powerful attack from his opponent's saber. Even with the last of his shields, the assault threw the Suzume back. Kei decided to use the to his advantage and retreat back a little.

"Dammit, I'm finishing this. From this point on it's all Climax!"

Kneeling to brace itself from the oncoming beam of death, the scarred and bruised machine activated its beam shield. As the beam blast slammed into the wall of light in front of the Uesugi a flash of light lit up the battlefield smoke, dust, and oppressive heat swirled around the point of impact. Through the maelstrom caused by Kei's awesome attack came a blue bolt of blasted turquoise metal that charged straight at Kei and his Suzume. Its entire left arm had been blasted clean off, the MS as a whole looked as if it had already been trough the scrap yard, but somehow it was holding together long enough to see this fight to its end.

Luke had managed to survive the Suzume's ultimate attack. Trying to repeat such a feat would be risky. Kei first did some quick emergency repairs then with a yell, also charged forward, pulling out his beam saber. It was his hope to end this here. He took both of the shots head on and countered with a slash at the legs(reaction-counter). Without checking if he made comment he made another swing at the Uesugi. He put everything he had into this furious assault.
